Safeguarding

Please ensure you notify us of any changes to contact details. This includes contact details and address.

Please ensure that you label your child’s belongings clearly and provide them with appropriate clothing such as coats, wellingtons, hats etc.

When entering the building please buzz to announce that you are here.

Lunch and snacks

At jack in the box we aim to promote healthy eating. We are aware of the importance of children having a balanced diet. We provide a healthy snack of fruit during the morning session and again in the afternoon. A healthy snack is also provided at 4pm for children who attend past this time. Children are also welcome to bring their own snack from home for tea time.

We would like to reiterate that for children bringing a packed lunch/ tea this is to be healthy and may consist of a sandwich, a piece of fruit and a yoghurt. We do not encourage children to bring in chocolate, sweets and cake other than for celebrations. Please do not put these into your child’s lunch box.

Absence

Please ensure that you inform nursery if your child is going to be absent. This may be due to a holiday, day trip or sickness. You can notify us via phone, text, whatsapp or email.

If your child has had sickness and/or diarrhea please ensure that they remain absent from the setting for 48 hours from their last bout of illness to ensure that this is not passed on to other children and staff.

If your child is absent due to holiday or sickness you will still be charged for this session.

Tapestry

We use tapestry for uploading children’s observations and this can be accessed by all parents/carers. If you are having trouble accessing tapestry or activating your account please let us know and we can support you with this.

It was highlighted during our recent Ofsted inspection that parents appeared unaware of what their child’s next steps of development are. These can be found via the tapestry app, your child’s observations will once a month state their next steps for development. We will also now be providing a copy of your child’s learning journey with next steps each month for you to have. Your child’s learning and development can also be discussed at parents evenings which are held termly to allow us the opportunity to share their progress and further lines of development with you. This also allows opportunity to share ideas of how you can support your child’s learning further at home. We understand it is not easy for all parents/carers to attend however, if the dates provided are not suitable we are happy to arrange a more convenient date if required. We would strongly urge you to participate with your child’s key worker to successfully identify how their learning will progress within the nursery and for you to continue this at home.

New starters

We would like to welcome all of our new starters. Welcome to Angeline, Melania, Kiara, Avneet, Kiera, Coryn, Zachary, Zohair, Harper, Amelia, Royalty, Perry, Tommy, Virshiya, Spencer, Eve, Lola, Ivie, Arjun, Michael, Richard.

30 hours funding

Please ensure to reconfirm your code every 3 months to ensure that you continue to receive funding for your child. It is recommended that you continue to do this until your child is attending school.

15 hour funding

We have spaces available for two year funding. If your child is eligible for this please speak to the office to book sessions.

Parents Evening

Parents evening will be on Monday 7th October for Preschool children from 4-6pm and on Tuesday 8th October for babies and toddlers 4-6pm. If you require longer than this please see the office to arrange an appointment.
